Musandam Peninsula — A relatively small peninsula, 3000 km2, in the northern part of Oman. A critical location like this is the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the busiest sea routes in the world, not to mention strategically important. Musandam's capital, Khasab which is the largest area with a population of more than 45 thousands thereby deemed 'Norway of Arabia' for being a fjord like fjords, cliffs cliffs and scenic mountains. It's an excellent place for people to decompress from their frenetic lives.
Khasab castle in which was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century as a crucial sea invader fortress. Square Izink, the town fortress of Khasab is an ancient site reflecting the culture and traditions of this ancient city/trade port. Exibitions in the castle are showing crafts like how axes and fish traps. The ancient central round tower, reputedly built by the Portuguese when you visit this historic site do not miss.
2. Bukha Castle
Almost encroaching upon the capital of Masira (Muscat) itself, Bukha castle is one of the largest forts in Oman, built in 16th century by Saif Bin Sultan Al Yaroubi. A pear-shaped cannon tower for better cannon use in the battlefield than normal, straight sided. The location of castle provides an advantageous exposure into mountains look which makes it hard for adversaries to move closer. Also the moat in front of castle provided some protection before road got built.
3. Petroglyphs On Tawi (Rocks Scavenged)
Tawi Petroglyphs(Khasab Village/Tawi) is located near Qadah, Khasab and found to be 50000 years old The Tawi Petroglyphs are located at the very end of valley coastal road off Khasab direction towards Bukha only 4 kilometers. Different carvings on mountainside here tell the story of an eternal people, ancient rock carvings used by their ancestors to teach future generations.

Expect see the small villages at 1,400m above sea level, with the said plateau would present me rocky formations. When you get to the Rawdah Bowl, the wildflowers will burst out all over. On the way you will pass traditional "Bait al Qufl" (lock houses) constructed out of local stones. These buildings are meant to store stuff during summer migration of sheep.
5. Khasab Musandam Dhow Cruise
Musandam’s most popular activity and perfect for all ages is the dhow cruise. Cruising these mighty waters with its 17-kilometer long Khor Shem fjord that visitors so often spot the humpback and bottlenose dolphins. A must see attraction is Telegraph Island, the place where the British laid the first telegraph cable in 1864 between India and Basra, Iraq. Exploring different sites such as the one at Telegraph Island, snorkel or even in the presence of friendly fisherman villages like Nadifi, Qana, Maqlab and Shaam adds more enjoyment to it.
6. Zipline Adventure
The sea has seen its longest zipline in the world (Guinness Book of Records), in Khasab. It is 1.8 kms long running from Jebel Fit through Khor Qadah and terminating its journey by arriving the Atana Khasab Hotel It carries the parallel lines that permits two people to slingshot across in a superman style.
